These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Laguagus mobile application ("Laguagus" or the "App"), operated by Rentprog Unipessoal Lda ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using Laguagus, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Laguagus is a language learning application that helps users study vocabulary and phrases through spaced repetition, AI-assisted card generation, and optional voice and image features. The App offers:
You must be at least 13 years old to use Laguagus. If you are between 13 and 18, you represent that you have your parent or legal guardian's permission to use the App and agree to these Terms.
Laguagus is not available in jurisdictions where its use would be illegal.
Laguagus uses an anonymous account model by default. When you first open the app, we generate a random device identifier (UUID) that serves as your account identifier. No email, name, or password is required.
Optionally, Pro subscribers may link their account to Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google to enable cross-device access and account recovery. Linking is optional; you can use all features (except cross-device sync) without linking.

Pricing varies by region and is displayed in your local currency in the App before purchase. All prices include applicable taxes.

We do not directly process payments or store your payment information. All billing is handled through your App Store or Google Play account according to their terms.
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Your App Store or Google Play account will be charged for the renewal.
You can cancel your subscription at any time through:
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain Pro access until the end of the paid period.

We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice. Price changes for existing subscribers take effect at the next billing cycle. If you do not agree with a price change, you can cancel before it takes effect.
You retain ownership of all flashcard content you create or modify within Laguagus, including:
To provide the service (including cloud sync for Pro subscribers), you grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, transmit, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing Laguagus to you.

Cards generated through AI features (Claude, image generation) are provided to you "as is." You are responsible for reviewing and editing AI-generated content before relying on it for learning. We make no guarantees about the accuracy of AI-generated translations, grammar, or images.
AI-generated content is yours to use, modify, or delete. The underlying AI models are owned by their respective providers (Anthropic, Replicate, OpenAI), and we comply with their usage policies on your behalf.
You may not use Laguagus to create, generate, or share content that is:

AI generation requests pass through our backend proxy which filters and sanitizes prompts. Attempts to:

Laguagus, including the app, backend services, graphics, designs, source code, algorithms, and brand, is owned by Rentprog Unipessoal Lda and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.
You may not copy, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of our intellectual property without express written permission.
Laguagus uses open-source software subject to various licenses (Vue.js, Pinia, Capacitor, SQLite, etc.). Attribution is available upon request.
If you send us feedback, suggestions, or ideas for improving Laguagus, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free license to use them without compensation. We appreciate your feedback but are not obligated to implement it.
Laguagus is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We disclaim all warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Laguagus is a learning tool, not a guarantee of language proficiency. Your results depend on your effort, consistency, and learning style. We do not guarantee that using Laguagus will enable you to pass exams, get jobs, or achieve any specific language proficiency level.
AI-generated content may contain errors, mistranslations, culturally inappropriate suggestions, or outdated information. Always verify AI output with authoritative sources before relying on it. We are not liable for learning errors caused by AI-generated content.
Laguagus integrates with third-party services (Apple, Google, Cloudflare, Anthropic, etc.). We are not responsible for the availability, performance, content, or policies of these third parties.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rentprog Unipessoal Lda and its officers, employees, and partners shall not be liable for:
Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability for certain damages. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
EU consumer rights: nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under Portuguese and EU consumer protection law, including warranties of conformity under Decree-Law No. 84/2021.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Rentprog Unipessoal Lda from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
You can delete your account at any time through Settings → Account → Delete Account in the App. Deletion:
Before deletion, you can export your data via Settings → Data → Export All Data to download a JSON file containing your decks, cards, and review history.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of Laguagus at any time. We will provide reasonable notice for material changes affecting paying subscribers.
We may update these Terms periodically. Material changes will be announced in the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to changes, you must stop using the App.
You may stop using Laguagus and delete your account at any time (see Section 11).
We may suspend or terminate your access to Laguagus at any time, with or without notice, if:
On termination, your right to use Laguagus ends immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive (intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, indemnification, governing law) remain in effect.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal and applicable European Union regulations, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Disputes arising out of or related to these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Lisboa, Portugal.
If you are an EU consumer, you retain the right to bring claims in the courts of your country of residence under applicable EU consumer protection law.

We are not obligated to use this platform but are willing to participate in good-faith dispute resolution through support@laguagus.app.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding Laguagus and supersede any prior agreements.
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
Our failure to enforce any provision does not waive our right to enforce it later.
You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our consent. We may assign our rights and obligations to a successor (e.g., in case of merger or acquisition).
We are not liable for failures to perform due to causes beyond our reasonable control (natural disasters, war, terrorism, government actions, internet outages, third-party service failures).
These Terms are provided in English. Translations to other languages are provided for convenience; in case of conflict, the English version prevails.
